Mobile WebCam Pro

"Mobile WebCam Pro" software turns a Java(J2ME)-enabled mobile phone with camera into a webcam, which sends pictures automatically in given time intervals via FTP or HTTP over GPRS or UMTS/3G connection.

The image resolution is limited by hardware capabilities, and usually varies from 120x160 up to 1224x1632 (2 MP). The images can be sent in adjustable time interval, the minimal time interval is about 3 seconds (it depends of course on the connection quality). If the network is lost, the programm will continue after establishing the network connection.

The motion detector is integrated: it switches the webcam in the online-mode if motion in the viewing field is detected, and switches the webcam in the watching mode if nothing happens.

One of the interesting features is the spy(or Stealth) mode. The program work as a background thread, and there is almost no way to find out that the programm is active, still it is sending the images as in the normal mode.

Motion detection

The motion is detected at the lowest resolution. If the motion is detected, the programm does the following:
1. sends the current lo-res image,
2. makes an image in usual resolution and sends it,
3. makes an lo-res image and analyses it for motion,
4. If motion is detected, the programm continues from step 1, otherwise it continues from step 3.

The motion detector is controlable - fine tuning is possible (extra utility).

Server side software

Server side software can be additionally included. Relative simple PHP5 examples are available for free.
